Big Sci/Fi reader here, I will have to see what titles come under this sub-genre.

I guess that you are not asking us just to nominate our favourite sci fi novel, but 1984 by George Orwell, shows the human race without any compassion.

Last book I read that could be considered sci-fi would have been "A hitchhikers guide to the galaxy

"Don't Panic". 😉

Not sure I agree with the nomeclature.

Not so much because I don't think I understand what you are getting at, but rather because I think that fiction asks us to enter into a world of the work and in that world all things are possible...we suspend reality, we suspend our beliefs, we leave the paradigm.

Ya think?

I would call that Fantasy. Fiction only means it is not a true event or situation. Hence, Fiction and Non-fiction genre.

@Reignmond Think about it. Even when we read an autobiography, or view a documentary, we enter into the world of the work. I think our ability to become one with the text is bloody fantastic! Come on

I only recently started watching The Handmaid's Tale. Really liked it, though I find it scary because of the early signs I may be seeing it coming to fruition.
