And now for something completely different;
Litter

It's interesting that when you see someone throw a wrapper or bag on the ground, we call that littering. The individual act of throwing an item that will not decompose, is an action that "developed" countries will construct laws around, and fine over. Meanwhile in reality, any manufacturer who makes any form of packaging that cannot be recycled, is littering. It does not matter if you throw your chip bag in the trash can. Eventually, it will end up in the environment we occupy. Baking in the sun in a landfill, or flowing in a far off ocean. Just because in the act of throwing our "litter" in the garbage puts it out of site, does not mean it should also be placed out of mind.

Litter is not the pieces of garbage you see on the ground in your city; or the act of an individual placing it there. Litter is being mass produced. It is what you throw away when you have unwrapped your gifts, or eaten your takeout. Litter is every black bag we fill and discard.

Nothing will change until this is realized; until regulations with financial penalty toward manufacturers are created and enforced.
