Never mistake what you do not understand as magic or divine intervention. Learn to let your unknowns be unknowns until a logical conclusion is found. Our need for conclusions in place of admitting our ignorance is what fuels the misguided, and perpetuates superstition. That need to know. To fill the void, with anything that will stop the sensation of uncertainty. But how we do so is often with our baser selves. Our emotions rooted in instinct drive us to what feels good to us, rather than what is true.
Herein lies the greatest hurdle I personally believe humanity will ever face. To settle for belief for the sake of comfort and peace of mind, or to strive to know at the cost of said comfort; at the cost of a false sense of certainty.

As that famous philosopher Dick Cheney once said ๐Ÿ™‚

Ill drink to that. In fact make it a double!

But the Flying Spaghetti Monster is a jealous God who demands my worship and praise.

The great divide which lies between the religious view and the, sceptic, scientific, rationalist view is. The first sees truth as being which fulfills and confirms my wants, and the second sees truth as something to seek despite personal wants. They are two fundamentally different approaches to life which can never meet.

โ€œTiger got to hunt, bird got to fly;
Man got to sit and wonder 'why, why, why?'
Tiger got to sleep, bird got to land;
Man got to tell himself he understand.โ€ โ€“ Kurt Vonnegut

Kurt was great.
ppl who read "slaughterhouse 5" have a much better understanding of what WW2 was really about.

โ€œOur need for conclusions in place of admitting our ignorance โ€ฆ...โ€ We are not โ€˜ignorant,โ€™ we are curious, and that curiosity has led to our discoveries.

Otherwise, that being my only disagreement, I think youโ€™re right-on. And, rarely find humanities acceptance and dependance on religion as well described.

Not a (canโ€™t even remember the term) ..profile searcher ... assuming โ€˜thatโ€™s your business,โ€™ I hope youโ€™re able to refine and promote this summation. Though it doesn't fit on a bumper sticker, or a hat..

Yes, Iโ€™m loving it! ..it acknowledges both human fear, and arrogance.. We need to show the strength to exist, yet admit there will always be an unknown. Can we pass through the tunnel of unknowns ..to that light at the end - discovering as we go? Or will we cling to an imaginary Daddy? Iโ€™d suggest we pay attention to our surroundings, while carefully making our way to what might be considered another dimension ~

I don't understand women - and don't see them as magical or divine, but thank you for the reminder! ๐Ÿ˜€

Ok. Iโ€™ll take it.

I always say to people who prefer to believe the preposterous, rather than say that they donโ€™t have an answer.....that there will be a logical explanation, itโ€™s just that we havenโ€™t figured it out. Other people prefer to have everything tied up with a ribbon and a bow, even if that means making it up!
