I'm really sorry hear that
I hope the bests for you
I'm sure that must be a huge loss.
Your situation brings home the argument that's raging nowadays about feelings versus free speech. I think free speech trumps feelings every time because even though individuals suffer from the free speech of others, society suffers if free speech is forbidden.
It's not about free speech it's about being a decent human being with empathy
I guess you will decide who is a decent human being or not based on whether they do what you want or not. Fair enough, that's your opinion but I doubt people exercising their right against your wishes won't care much what you think about them.
It certainly ups the ante to judge people who want their freedom of speech as indecent human beings. It will be interestng to see if anyone will exercise that right tomorrow in the face of such harsh judgement.
I haven't exercised my freedom of speech in response to her request. I questioned whether freedom of speech was more important than individual wishes and also whether people should be judged adversely if they chose to exercise that right.
As for the 'necessity' of the post, it was enough in a discussion forum that it was a valid post. Sad to see how many discussions are closed down these days by those claiming their own virtue gives them the right to judge.
Whatever that means. It's either very deep or very trite.
