Once upon a time, news programmes told you what HAD happened. Right now I am listening to the news on BBC and it is telling me what IS GOING TO happen. Items like "tomorrow the minister is going to say...".
It reminds me of third world news broadcasts.
Surely such news should be "According to reports from ....... the minister is going to say ....."
