My wife and I have three grown children and the three things we're most proud of, in addition to their good health:

They have college educations paid for by us and have successful careers based on their education.
We never laid a hand on them in anger.
They never attended a single day in any Sunday School.

My parents did not spank us kids. We never spanked, hit or slapped Claire. Timeouts, grounding and removing privileges (cell phone) worked.

Claire never attended church. We paid for her first two years of college. Claire paid for the last two years.

With a bachelor degree, Claire has a job she loves related to her degree.
