What a sick fuck. The religidiots will sink to any depth to spread their loony fables. Here's another twisted asshat for you:
Diane, a young Christian university student, was home for the
summer. One evening she returned late from a visit to her friends.
She walked quite alone through an alley and asked God to keep
her from harm and danger. Halfway down the alley she noticed a
man, looking like he was waiting for her. She prayed for protec-
tion and instantly a comfortable feeling of quietness and security
surrounded her, as if someone was walking with her. She walked
right past the man and arrived home safely. The following day
she read in the paper that a young girl had been raped in the
same alley, just twenty minutes after she had been there. She
decided to go down to the police station. She could identify the
man at a line-up. The man was arrested. She asked the police-
man if he would ask the man why he had not attacked her. His
answer was as simple as it was surprising: “Because she wasn’t
alone. She had two tall men walking on either side of her.”
I guess she's grateful that god made the rapist attack someone else. This is the mentality of the christian faith.
That's the linchpin of rape culture, though. When we teach women to avoid rape, we're not addressing the rapist. One woman may avoid rape, but the rapist will find another woman to assault. It's so much better to teach consent and respect, and prosecute, convict, and jail rapists.
@GinaMaria I agree 100%. In this case I was just pointing out the abhorrent mentality it would require to thank whatever imaginary monster you worship that the bad shit happened to someone else. In this story it was a rape, but it can be a sole survivor in a horrible accident, a family who was spared from a tornado that devastated their neighborhood, etc.
Rape culture in both of these cases is an awful condition to use to justify your religion, but also inherent in this mindset is the arrogance to believe that one is favored above everyone else by a supreme being.
