Next step. Sue the top management of Boeing for knowingly certifying a faulty aircraft - and not mentioning the MACS system, let alone how to disable it, in the pilots' manual.
It was my understanding from reports that I read that a lot of pilots knew enough to turn off APS when it went nose down. Still, I agree with you as they rushed this through anyway knowing its shortcomings based upon one sensor only. Boeing has a history of pushing flight safety WAY out of line.... For their civilian aircraft and military. Their Osprey was a bloodbath for years!
The Ethiopian pilots went through the book, following EVERY SINGLE procedure given by Boeing. Not one worked. One of my long time friends was a pilot for a major airline, flying international flights around the world. His communications with other pilots make damning reading. Not one of them knew of the long, difficult procedure that Boeing claimed would neutralise the MACS software.
