Hmm soo 50 000 points to get to level 8?! Quite the jump.... will have to keep accumulating points for years it seems.... but this community and its many groups have been beneficial to me so not gonna leave because of it.

ahh but this canuck is competitive and a perfectionist, so we have different mindsets despite our shared heritage. 
Really there is no difference between being level 7 or level 8, so don't worry, be happy.
