i enjoyed "Anna Karenina" by Tolstoy which was also made into a movie. in fact i think there are 2 versions of it.

Yes, there a few vesions of Ana Karenina in movies. I prefer the older ones

Dostoevsky is a longtime favorite. The Devils being my favorite, The Idiot, Brothers Karamazov and of course Crime and Punishment, all fantastic books and old friends revisited time and again.

i think the devils also came out as "the demons".
i recently found copies of the bros Karmazov & The Idiot which i'll get around to reading soon.

@callmedubious, I think you're right. I've seen it under both titles....my well worn copy is The Devils. I'm sure some would disagree, but I've always seen Dostoevsky as a Russian Dickens, another favorite author.

@Dew25 Yes, love crime and punishment but also "Poor people"

also a Dostoevsky fan. "crime & punishment" was made into a film which i saw before reading the novel but found that the novel had much more impact. "the demons" written 130 yrs ago is quite prescient.
