Definitely 1, My Sharona.
I turned 20 that year.
More of a Queen, Aerosmith fan.
All good ones!
i remember 10 & 13 better that the others. liked Mcarthur Park but by Richard Harris.
Disco era, I didn't care for any of them.
What were you listening to at that time?
@BeeHappy Ten Years After, Supertramp, Roxy Music, many others. Later The Cars, The Police, Devo, the Tubes Roxy Music - Love Is The Drug
@BeeHappy And a lot of Pink Floyd.
@GeorgeRocheleau Cool... I liked the Police, the Cars and Devo. Thanks George!
I agree. The Village people were amusing, Debbie Harry was gorgeous and Dr Hook and the Doobie Brothers were OK but the rest ? nah.
None of my favorites on that list. That was my senior year in college and I wasn't into pop music then. Once disco took over I didn't listen to the radio much. I liked the artists that got their start in the 1960s and early 1970s, and most were still putting out good music in the late 1970s.
So how about a favorite from that time... not on the list?
@BeeHappy Pink Floyd - The Wall
Tom Petty - Don't Do Me Like That
ELO - Don't Bring Me Down
@ATDayHiker Yes! Good picks! Thanks.
Hey, how have you been, BeeHappy? The late 70's was such a rich time in my life. I gave a long look at the spiritual "MacArthur Park", and "Reunited" ( because a recent breakup at that time made me emotionally vulnerable to that song). But I, too, settled on "What a Fool Believes".....a lovely little melody, good vocals, and poignant real life lyrics. And whether it is music, movies, or my own life, I find poignancy to be irresistibly powerful.
Good choice!
