As an expert witness in court I am expected to tell the truth and nothing but the truth.
It is time politicians can only tell the truth. Let’s start with calling a law or a bill by its real name.
Not “Obama care” but the “patient protection and affordable health care act”
Not “death panels” but “living wills”
Etc etc.
The replacement names used are meant to stir up negative emotions.
I must tell the truth. They should be the first to tell the truth.
Obama care is everything but affordable!
@zesty I hope your medical insurance covers everything you'll ever need.
I had a mammogram in November. If the military didn't cover it, I'd have to pay over $15K for it.
My former coworker had breast cancer, prior to the Affordable Care Act, she lost her house, her husband (sudden heart attack), was homeless for over 1 year because she could not afford her cancer meds.
The entire year she was homeless, she survived her cancer by some miracle only to later die because it had gone untreated. It spread throughout her body.
I lost a good friend.
Prior to her death, I was able to take her to the pharmacy to get her cancer meds, instead of $900 per RX, she only had to pay a copay of $25, thanks to the Affordable Care Act that PRESIDENT OBAMA passed!
I hope you're enjoying your pampered life!
@SleeplessInTexas Sorry about your friend.
I agree, and we ought to give them real names in the first place, but I doubt we could make anyone do that.
Should be mandatory that the law/act/policy name be descriptive. Citzens United and Right to Work come to mind as examples that aren't.
