They only became kings because they killed all their enemies to become so....they then created a dynasty by the succession of their own progeny. Sometimes the sons were weaker than their fathers and lost the crown to a stronger pretender.....and so it went on to the current day. The “divine right of kings” had nothing to do with god or divinity....it was invented by themselves to keep most of the privilege and spoils to themselves.
