Had to arrange an academic disciplinary with one of my personal students. I don't like this part of the job, actually its my first time. I hate this feeling I let her down.
If you were upfront and honest with your expectations... Then she let YOU down... If you weren't... Then you have something to work on!
She complained to my colleague that I was over nurturing then complained to me that I ignore her! I'd say typical teen, except she is an adult!
You didn’t let her down. Keep in mind, not everyone is meant to be a nurse or sometimes they need this wake up call to recommit to their work.
You can only to do so much to help someone succeed, the rest is up to them. Good luck.
I can understand how you feel. It is never easy to do that but you have to remember that she is responsible for her actions no matter how hard you tried to help her, she alone is responsible for the predicament she is in. Remember the first time one has to do this is always the most difficult one.
Almost everyone hates it.
