Well this is interesting. Denying Trump a state visit for D-Day celebrations in the UK. What do you think? Does he fall into the category of Dictator and Despot as the speaker says? [facebook.com]
As much as Trump is perceived to be the biggest dickhead to ever have taken office in the Western World, my feeling is it is disingenuous for him not to speak. In the liberated world we need to respect the office, not the man. I don’t know if the address of the US president to Parliament is a protocol or a political nicety extended to State visitors. If it was a normal visit I would say leave him out, but as it’s a state visit protocol, whatever that may be in this case should be given precedence.
COnveniently the Queen has the decorators in so is unable to put him up. The opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn has other plans at the dinner event, and some others politicians have previous arrangements.
People are making papier mache effigies of Trump babies, and a new and larger giant balloon is being prepared to welcome him
He falls into the category of dictator and despot even if the Speaker was mute!
