OK, I've done it successfully before, but tonight I was in a group I subscribe too, tried to make a post to it. and it ended up in the general listing of posts. Now I can't figure out how to post to a specific group. Help!

On the group page, there's a teeny tiny tab that says "Write Post" just below the group banner. It should be almost in the center of the page on a computer screen, I have no idea what it would look like if you're using your phone. You have to click that FIRST, to post inside the group.
