Wow, Roman Catholic weddings are such a bore.

Weddings and funerals are on the same level for me.
Don't do either unless i feel obligated.

I was too young to refuse attending but gibberish = gibberish....ritual stupidity promising to breed or celebate no other choice declared

And some of the weddings seem to last longer than the marriage.

Those rituals can be boring but not the receptions

It depends on whether they opt for the full service. The churches are beautiful though. I usually just look around and admire the architecture.

Had a blast at all the weddings I attended only regret going to one😂

Been to a few - first one was incense swinging, the whole latin chantst and a weedy inept choir for nearly two hours (am sure that is longer than that pair ever spent making love - divorced after 4 years). Took a personal tape player and earphones (yes - that long ago) to the next

The ceremonies are long and going to church for any length of time is painful for me.

I was asked to read from the bible at my cousin's wedding and declined. I'd say I did so politely, but there was no way to do it without it seeming impolite.

Yeah, I felt really terrible about that. 😏

The receptions are usually pretty good. I've never known a dry Catholic.
