By the way, have a lovely summer next month everybody! What do you typically love to do during the summers? Does this day Cinco de Mayo (the 5th of May) have any special meaning to you? It is a big here in Fresno, California .....many see it as the alternate Mexico Independence Day!
How about you?
No, but I celebrated it when I was teaching at a university in Hermosillo, MX in 2001.
Today it rained, but it's so nice that we took a walk in the rain. Lots to see in the countryside. We live in a very rural area with farms, horses, cattle, donkeys, goats and everybody raises chickens.
Before my divorce and moving to my apartment, it was a day of great inconvenience for me, since the local parade forms up right in the neighborhood where I lived and they would line up on my street, blocking my driveway. I would have to yell at them to let me out so I could go to work. Or else I would have to wake up early and park on the street so I didn't get blocked in.
Sounds great ... no church day ... cerebrating the coming of summer soon, "Cinco de Mayo" with my friends from Mexico and USA! Chinese & Mexican Buffet at the same time while doing some early gardening and later going straight up to the mountains enjoying nature and the waterfalls at Yosemite National Park .... 1 1/2 hours away from Fresno, California now!
