The Church and the State Should Be Separated

My country's mid-term election is drawing near. It's on the 13th and I don't really like what's going on.

These men, men who are of the church, dress themselves up as representatives of citizens that fight against corruption. They even branded themselves as such, but all I see is just another agenda of the church to put themselves in Congress to influence our laws.

I mean, I cannot believe how backward my country is going. It's 2019 and yet they still oppose the common notion of divorce. Divorce is legal in every country around the world, except ours and the Vatican. They say that marriage is sacred, but what if being married is like living in hell itself. They oppose the notion of freedom of gender expression. They oppose being called out on their BS as a church.

And yet, they say that their primary goal is to end corruption within the country. It is all false. It is all dressed up to push their backward agenda because it was all based on a 2000-year old book. They are not even lawyers to begin with. How are they supposed to propose laws for the sake of the citizens that believe in their fight against corruption?

They are the ones who are corrupted. They are corrupted within their thinking.

I don't know the voting systems of other countries, but here, those who have the highest numbers of votes gets a seat in Congress. It is the masses that vote for their representatives. It's a pity that they fool the poor to push their backward agenda that would only hurt them.

I believe that the Church should separate from running the state. It is stated in our constitution, and yet, why do I not see that? How can a country living in 2019 be influenced by a 2000-year old fantasy book?

I believe my post is a little clunky this time. It's late and this kept bothering me for months. I had to type this down before I move on about it. It's been a long time since I posted. I think it's good to be back to this site.
