How long do you want to live? A recent post asked a similar question. It seemed most people did not want eternal life. Please make your best guess assuming you will be in good health mentally and physically.

I put forever because of the conditions of physical and mental fitness. If I were miserable, I'd rather not live that long. The world could become and intolerable place, and I might not want to stick around.

FOREVER!!!!!!! Seriously, I wish I could live forever. I want to see everything from here on out!

I don't get it. why not choose forever?

I figure mid 80’s. Hell, my bones ache in the morning already, and I’m only pushing at 50’s door. My ex and I always thought by our mid 80’s it would be the time to liquidate all assets and move to Thailand and take up smoking opium. Why? Because it’ll kill you... that’s the whole point.😉 Sit out on the beach and hit the pipe and drift off for the long nap.

Forever, with the option to off myself once it's clear things go too far beyond my understanding, or I'm sufficiently awed by our progress, or the world descends into nuclear winter as the last guttural shrieks of humanity die like a snuffed out candle in the void.

Well I picked a thousand but will I look like I'm a thousand-years-old old? It's hard enough to date now. 😁

Forever. I want to see how this whole evolution thing turns out.
And if we can't escape the Einsteinian constraints of the universe, it would be the only realistic way I could bathe under the light of a different star.

Probably not forever. The Earth might one day be destroyed and break up and then you would be floating through space FOREVER probably without ever being pulled in by gravity to another habitable planet. 1000+ years would be good for me if I was healthy. Right now at 40, my back is screaming with a degenerative disc. I'd settle for another 40-50 years being healthy.

No 0 years option?

I really want to see what happens with the human race, even if it's bad. Our potential is so high and so low, and I'm really curious to see how it ends up.

I didn't want to live to see 40. Here I am. 😔

what is wrong with 40? Sad would b to be dead!!! 🙂

I hope you've rethought that now.

@lerlo Of course. I'm still here, aren't I? Plus, I have reason to want to live longer. 😊

Thank you for caring. Don't worry. That's in my past. You know what I mean.

@SleeplessInTexas glad to hear it😍

If I was in good health: mental and physical...let it be foreveeeeeeeeeeer!

Like I said a couple of days ago, when the day comes when I can no longer
wipe my own ass, I want out.

@BeerAndWine Of course that day is coming. Unless, of course, I drop dead first.
No one lives forever. It's ridiculous to even entertain such thoughts.
There are no "what ifs". Everyone dies. Everyone.
There is no "forever". That's as much nonsense as gods are.

Forever and a day.
