My cat brought us a “gift” and I thought that it was dead, but when I took it by the tail to throw it out...it wasn’t dead...

Poor black snake. I hope he didn't suffer any permanent injuries.

He seemed fine and fast to me.

We live in an area where snakes are nto common. The "gifts" our cats bring home are birds, squirrels and bunnies. All actually dead .... so far.

The challenge it to spot the "figts" before they bring them inside.

You let your cat roam outside and kill wildlife???
The black rat snake is an endangered species..it's illegal to harass, kill, collect, or possess them.

Domestic cats are an invasive, non-native species in North America, that kills billions of animals a year. Furthermore, their feces spreads dangerous toxoplasmosis to wildlife and humans for 18 months after being deposited.
