I just got put into Facebook jail for 24 hours for putting something already posted on Facebook onto my own timeline. They said it was against their standards.....
I was put on probation for six months for sharing a picture that a friend of mine had posted. Their appeal process is a joke. I could post on my timeline, but not comment on posts. That is why I post to "Friends Only." Know your friends. You only get punished by Facebook if someone reports you.
You mean Facebook has a Code Of Conduct! That would be worth a read
unbelievable! Never happened to me -spend less time on FB.
And we have no, or minimal standards/ This is true, by the way.
I think there is heavy human involvement in censoring the posts, and your post may have hit a different reviewer. Who knows. Do you know if the other post is still there?
I have no idea if the original post was still there, but they were nto really specific in tellign me which post was a supposed violation.
@powder They do A LOT with bots and algorithm, but they still require a lot of human input, since the bots and algorithms can be fooled easily enough by clever hackers. Take the New Zealand mosque shooting, it took a long time for both FB and YouTube to get that under control.
How do you know the original poster was not punished by Facebook, too?
I've no idea. They did nto show the original post, so I have no idea what the actual violation was.
Probably an indication that the resale value of the data on your page took a hit, so they're upset with you, while the source of your post is already at rock bottom so they didn't have the same lofty expectations.
