Hi Everyone. Past Memorial Day now, what are your summer plans?
It's work season for me, along with it being a painfully short season here in Northern Indiana. So I struggle with it. But the great thing about summer around the Great Lakes, is that there is always something to do, something going on. We are all in the race against time together here!
My plans are rather limited:
Father's Day camping trip to Missouri (long weekend); I am Taking my youngest son (12) to Massachussetts to go Whale Watching, Concord/ Lexington, maybe Plimoth Plantation, USS Constitution.
I am Taking my elder boy (15) to see a Slipknot concert in Michigan. (Last year it was System of a Down in Las Vegas...new favorite band) . Stay the night make it a 2-3 day trip.
Weird Al Yankovich in St. Augustine, then Twenty One Pilots in Birmingham. Trip to IN to collect family antique furniture in preparation for moving each kid into an apartment. (One moves in July, the other in September). Wrap summer up with Drum Corp Intl Regional finals. Lots to look forward to!
If you want to vacation closer to home and do a bit of camping and swimming. Dietz Recreation Park is always accepting new people. It's in Centerpoint IN, and only cost $7 per person over 6 and $3 for the car. Yes, this is totally a blatant ad. However that is what i am going to be doing all summer. I'll probably be putting back some cold ones and chilling on the beach and playing in euchre and corn hole tournaments.
Summer class. Then tending my garden. Doing fun stuff with my mom and dad. Practice my writing. Just doing whatever it takes to live the good life.
Three ukulele festivals. Hoping to take my kid to Indiana Dunes at some point. That's really it.
Great! And we are gonna do lunch right?
