While parking late at night You slightly scrape the side of a Porsche You are certain No one is aware of what happened, The damage is minor and would not be covered by insurance. Would you leave a note?

Reminds me of a news story years ago, in the 70’s maybe. Young bloke in a Porsche nips in front of an old bloke in a 4wd with a bull bar and steals a parking place. Winds down the window and shouts, insouciantly: ‘ Gotta be young and fast, Daddio, t’do that!’. Old bloke rams and crumples the rear end of the Porsche. Gets out and gives his business card and says: ‘Gotta be old and rich t’do that, sonny’. As to your moral dilemma - I would leave a note now, when I can afford to be honest. Years ago, when I was poor I’d probably say, say to myself, let’s share the bad luck. You got your share, but I got mine too.

If the scratch can be buffed out, then just leave. If not, leave a note.

And, oh yeah, i would. I like to not regret being an ass.

There was a bit about a note someone left:
"I hit your car. There are a few people watching me write this note, probably thinking i am leaving my information. But, as you will know soon, i have not."

Sadly yes I would leave a note. I have some weird need to be honest. It is NOT a good thing. It's a vice. I can't recall any times when my stupid honesty has benefited me. I can tell you several stories of how it hurt me though.

no way i'd leave a note for the greedy capitalistic swine, or drug dealer.

Reminds me of the tale of the bloke who found a note on the windscreen of his car that read "All the idiots watching think I'm leaving you my name and address!"

I'd, take pictures first, then leave note.

Of course, I'd Hope they"d do the same

I always do the right thing (sometimes I wish I did not) so yes I would leave a note

Why does it matter if it is a Porsche?

My response wouldn't be different if it wasn't a Porsche. It sounds like we are supposed to feel more responsible for other people's property, depending on how much money they have?

If you drive a really expensive car, then normal wear and tear includes repairing dings and dents. If you drive a cheap car, and don't have a complex about dings and dents, then you save money up front, and down the line. I have no sympathy for the Porsche owner, and I reserve the right to be as arbitrary and moody as I want, if his/her car gets damaged.

Of course. I would leave a note with my name and phone number.

To reassure them, I would say I have car insurance.

Have never hit someone's car. But a jackass hit my car without leaving a note, when it was in a parking lot.

You're in the habit of driving badly, are you? 🤣😂

@Petter

No, I have never hit anyone's car.. But if I did, I would leave a note. I'll rephrase my comment.

Nope. Bastard was parked over the line trying to take up 2 spots, he's lucky it's just a scratch.
