I haven't been on here in a while but I just thought I would share this funny story.
I started talking to a girl I met online, and after a few days she told me she was a "cam model". She told me she was on a strict schedule and had to pay a steep fine if she did not work on any given day. She implied I would have to pay the fine if I wanted to meet her.
If a normal, sane person saw this many blatant red flags they would cease contact. In this case, I saw nothing but red flags and decided to continue just to see what would happen.
After talking to her for almost 2 weeks, I told her that I didn't want to have to pay to meet her, especially if that would have to be every time. She gave me her email and I set her a secondary email that I use specifically for sketchy online things. She sent me a link labeled "MY SHOW" thats it. The link went to a shady site that asked for my credit card info without promising any purchase. I asked her about it and she said it was for "Age verification". I told her it looked like a scam and I wasn't going to do that.
I told her I thought she wasn't real. She responded by sending me several photos of herself ( some dirty ) Later, I did a reverse image search ( drag and drop a photo you have into google images to see if it exists elsewhere on the web ) and found every single picture on the web for someone with a different name. When I called her out on this, she called me and what ensued was 2 minutes of high pitched static that sounded like a robot voice.
We kept talking on and off for the next week. whenever we talked she kept asking me if we could meet, again demanding a payment for the "fine" she would have to pay to not work. She reiterated basically everything she said before verbatim. I again told her I wanted to meet and would pay the fine without any commitment every time.
A lot of our conversations where fairly hilarious. Bad spelling, improper grammar, clear lack of comprehension, always pushing me to pay. I asked to see her id or credit card info for age verification. She would not indulge in this simple request.
Finally I asked her what company she worked for and she told me. To my surprise it was a legitimate company. A quick google search revealed it is a network of professional scam company that uses international loopholes to legally extract cash from unsuspecting people.
When I brought this up I got messages that had random links in it denying any involvement. I deleted these messages because they can link to sites that give you viruses.
After that I blocked the number having just wasted over a month of this scammer's time.
