I've officially been called an ugly hag for supporting women in "mens" sports! This makes me so happy because it's always been my dream of making insecure men resort to that word! LMAO

How do you feel about women competing against men in "manly" sports?

Holy shit!
YOU kiddo, are FAR from "ugly hag". I can't believe anyone would call you that.

So, I don't really follow sports that much. But I'll give ya an example of "Shield Maiden" chops in the real world:
Personal experience from the late 70s.
Extracted under heavy fire from "bad guy country" on a ridgeline in S.America. Thought we were all going to "go down fighting".
Huey comes in and holds position while we climb aboard, taking automatic weapons fire. We made it back to base in a smoking, spitting bird. The young lady at the controls was maybe 25 years old. She saved our butts doing a "Manly" thing.
BTW, she was almost as cute as you.... almost.

Gender roles in sports are stupid.
Everyone should play together.

Doesn’t bother me, I’m not into sports, anyway.

I hate to say it but it... depends. Oh, and for the record, I am 6', 200+ lbs (since hitting 6'😉 and NO one thinks I weigh anymore than 50lbs less than I actually do. Right now I am about 265 and most think I am 225, give or take. I carry the weight well, but it's there. That said, I was born without the sport gene. I don't watch sports, though I don't mind participating. Thus, my knowledge of most sports is pretty limited. I have ridden bicycle a LOT and I skied a LOT (in High School). So, I could talk about those with some authority... and, yeah, my dad begged me to play football, or SOMETHING. I wasn't interested. So, I told my Marine father that I was joining the Army. 🙂

I have seen women whom I would be afraid of breaking like a small twig wanting to play Football... hey, I'm a big guy and I have been hurt (I honestly believe I broke my neck in Middle School) playing that game. If your superstructure isn't up to snuff, real damage can occur. I heard a hit at a High School game and... I do NOT know how that kid got back up! I'd put some other sports in this category: hockey, rugby. Basically, any sport in which one team is all but trying to kill the other and has overbread to be MASSIVE is one in which I'd want the gals in question to be able to compete with said massiveness... I'd say the same thing about a guy doing the same if HE was a twig, no... I am trying to think if there is a position that is unlikely to get a small player killed... kicker? Running back (but they get tackled HARD to).

Now, baseball? No reservations.

Soccer? I've seen gals play this and play as hard as any guy I've seen playing it!

So, for me, it depends on the person (woman or man) and the sport. The rougher sports beg for a tougher body (and I know that can be subjective, my wife did NOT have my superstructure and talk about a tough cookie!). I just don't like the idea of someone getting themselves killed doing something that should be fun. :/

I am hoping that doesn't make me sexist and I DO think that we should mix genders in all sports... just taking care not to put someone into the meat grinder before they are ready.

And for the record: Football (American) has a piss poor track record for taking care of it's players (I am talking about concussions, at least). I WAS told what to do, I could not, yet, do it. My neck simeply wasn't long enough, and the helmet and shoulder pads would lock up so I could NOT raise my head (the appropriate position)... so, I put it down and rammed... which is how I took out my kneck. I was too young and dumb at the time to know it... other than immediately falling out and being in pain but I was untroubled the next night.

How do I feel? May the best man/woman win! Yes, name calling is the result of someone NOT knowing what to say, or to make themselves feel better. It's almost the same when you tell a man you aren't interested in them: one of the first things out of their mouth is "you must be a lesbian".

Lmao I normally hear "well who would want to touch a fat bitch like you?"

@LadyAlyxandrea Girl, they want to touch you, but are pissed because you don't want their grubby little hands on your beautiful self!

@AzVixen52 lol thank you

@Sticks48 Typical male answer.

@Sticks48 Again, typical

@Sticks48 And he wonders why he's single

Some women I know could beat many men in many sports and if I enjoyed watching sports at all I might enjoy watching just to see some testosterone get his comeuppance.

First of all I’d like to believe we’ve moved on from ‘manly’ sports to sports. If you’re good enough then you should be eligible to get selected for that particular sport regardless of gender.

Meh sports in general. I get the keeping fit bit and maybe the team work thing at a stretch . I definately don't get the fatman on the couch knowing more about the game than the actual players . Anybody who thinks they are good at something though shouldnt be afraid of being challenged by anyone female or male

1

If they can play the game at the same level I say go for it.

3

Tell them to watch some ultra marathons and ultra swim events - women frequently beat men in those!

The men that were mocking me also didn't believe a smaller woman could flip a 300 pound 6'3 man. I can, even now with my disability. It's not about size, it's about torque and momentum. I did get called "xena" which was cool, but they were saying it mockingly as they doubt my abilities. Oh well it's a shame I cannot prove it to them over the internet

@LadyAlyxandrea They obviously haven't got much understanding of how martial arts work. Nor have I, but even I know that's possible!

@Jnei that's almost exactly what I told them "you obviously don't practice martial arts"

@LadyAlyxandrea Obviously failed Physics.
