Former Christian now a atheist. Looking for the same
My mother dropped us kids at First United Methodist Church for Sunday School, shoving us into the arms of the Lord. She went back home to bed. Dad never went to church.
I was never a Christian. It all seemed ridiculous. I couldn't stand the hypocrisy of Christians who removed their Sunday manners with their church clothes.
"Mom, I decided I'm an atheist," I said at 13. "I don't want to go to church anymore."
"That's fine, honey," she replied. "I became a atheist in nursing school when I realized a woman cannot turn into salt," Mom replied and laughed.
That was a relief.
