This world is getting too politically correct.

Stupid comments as they stand. But, what was the context? Did anyone really feel "offended."

They need some de-sensitivity training.

We should allow everyone a platform to espouse whatever views they have - and if you disagree - then use a logical argument to eviscerate their proposition.
logical debate is the basis of democracy - banning debate, of any subject, is the foundaion of anarchy

I often get annoyed at people who carry PC to an extreme, even tho I am a progressive, but I read the guy's speech and he does seem to be a bit of a dick when it comes to women, but I would not label him a misogynist, tho I am sure there are more than a few women here who would and are way too loose and quick about using that term.

Not really

As a white man, you want to say whatever you want without experiencing any consequences.

As @Druvius brilliantly put it:

"Yes, it was so much nicer when white males could spew any hateful shit they wanted and people just put up with it."

"Politically correct" means acting kind, sensitive and respectful toward people.

@Dyl1983

Are you saying you treat strangers disrespectfully? That's mean.

I treat all people with respect. People deserve your respect and understanding because they are fellow human beings.

However, they can do something that loses my respect. I wouldn't respect a child molestor or an abusive husband.

@Dyl1983

I'm sorry you have been bullied. Sounds like you have PTSD, which is understandable. I suggest you see a counselor.

I give my respect to people I know, who earn it - all get polite cordiality as a freebie - till they prove undeserving of it
cordiality - behaviour that is friendly, but formal and polite
respect - a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements.

Why, oh why, people listen to the rantings of entertainers, athletes and the like? This fool’s remarks had nothing to do with “correctness,” political or otherwise. They were just puerile and tasteless, and hardly approach a university level. (Then again, I know plenty of high-schoolers who wouldn’t dream of saying anything so dumb...)

@Dyl1983 Ha! A fair warning, and appreciated as such!

..is it spreading..? It’s far easier to take on the weak & considerate ..than the hostile bullies of your world. Instead of going head-to-head with the true (Republican) enemy - ‘progressives’ eat their own.. Cuz ‘their own’ don’t fight back.

As the progressives of the world fight among themselves over ‘who’s the most politically correct,’ industry-supported regressives kick our collective butts!

Even noticing self-proclaimed liberal/ progressives around here attack others over semantics, spelling, or ‘less than pure ideals’ ... while unwilling to lift a finger to face down the real enemy… Political Correctness is a Circular Firingsquad ~

There is a fair amount of truth to that.
