I went down to Shenandoah National Park in VA, to do some hiking and dispose of my late husbands ashes. A very bittersweet time for me, as this was our favorite place to go hiking, camping and backpacking. It just wasn't the same without him, much sadness....

@joantheloon, at least you got to go with him one more time and honor his memory by putting his ashes where he loved to be. My father wanted his ashes spread on the farm he was born and grew up on and that is what we did. The nicest thing you can do is honor their wishes. I hope you had a beautiful hike and a feeling of peace for yourself in completing his journey.
