My analysis of the results of the first Democratic debate: Biden and Harris may well just cancel each other out. Biden has made mistakes in the past and is prone to occasional verbal lapses. Harris showed intentional and focused aggression without compassion or understanding -- making her more unlikeable. Bernie did just OK. Warren, Castro, and Buttigieg performed very well and will gain ground. DiBlassio and Booker did okay. I predict that the rest will begin to fade quickly.

Harris and Warren impress me the most. They both have good ideas. Harris is the only one I have seen l believe can go one on one, toe to toe with Trump and get him off of his game, just like she did with Barr. Imagine if he lost to a Black Women. Warren's ideas and the detail with which she explains those ideas and the way to pay for those ideas which cost money, is very impressive. I will vote for whoever the nominee is.

I thought Kamal Harris was direct, firm, and started out with a positive and gave him a chance to recant or explain...she used her own pain and story to see if she could get him to understand that what he said was archaic and irrelevant to people who don't remember the whole story of segregation...I love Joe but he needs to go...

I found deBlasio to be the aggressive and pushy one...I don't like him...all he did was talk about what he did for NYC and unless you are from there, it is difficult to relate...he needed to be more broad...Bernie kept trying to wiggle in that all of those ideas were his ideas...maybe they were but it made him look needy...

I was surprised by Booker...I used to be a huge fan, but not sure yet if I can see him in the role of president...still don't like Warren...she reminds me of a teacher always wagging her finger in your face when she talks...I don't like her lecture style...

Buttigieg...love him for his coolness and he is super smart...super smart...he is one to watch but maybe not this round...

Castro was impressive...when I watched the first debate on Telemundo, the Hispanic crowd liked him a lot...

We have agreements and disagreements. I think that Warren has the most deep thought about what should be done and the most intense, heartfelt conviction that we must do our damnedest to make our country the best possible place for every child, woman, and man. To hell with style -- I want someone who knows what to do and can get it done.

@wordywalt If she is the nominee, I will vote for her...there is no doubt in my mind that she is passionate and qualified...

I was extremely impressed with Kamala Harris during the 2nd debate. She is highly intelligent, warm, clear, articulate and focused. Bravo!

"On a night that featured the two Democratic front-runners ― Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) ― it was Harris who consistently controlled the debate stage time and time again with clear and measured answers, direct and pointed shots, and lucid and tremendously personal examples.

“As the only black person on this stage, I would like to speak on the issue of race,” Harris said, cutting in during a discussion of racial justice.

"The moment felt historic: a leading candidate for president ― who is the second black woman ever elected to the Senate ― went after an elder statesman for his positions on civil rights and criminal justice that affected her personally."

"But from the beginning, Harris did what she could to keep the debate ― and her own responses ― focused."

What about Elizabeth Warren. I find her among the most intelligent of the candidates, the one who has devoted the most serious thought to what we need to do to make our country the best possible place for every child, woman and man, who has the deepest desire to get it done, and the drive to do so.

@wordywalt

Elizabeth Warren is my #1 choice.

@Bobby9

Did you see her genuine smile?

Warm

verb (used without object).

  1. to become ardent, enthusiastic, animated, etc. (often followed by up or to): The speaker quickly warmed to her subject.

  2. to grow kindly, friendly, or sympathetically disposed (often followed by to or toward): My heart warms toward him.

Buttigieg was great, but he's unelectable on a national scale. Bernie was awful. Out of the 20, I like Gabbard and Yang, but that was what I thought going into the debates, which were a sham, anyway
