"Whats on my mind, Rolly?"
Weeelll let me tell yah...
I am going through the posts/profiles....and it appears as though (perhaps) woman don't like sex?..or don't like to admit they like sex...?
Men seem to present this in their profiles...woman dont.
Perhaps they are bashful?
Perhaps this is a Silly, Random, & Fun observation...?
I need to add that a post on FB by a woman really opened my eyes to what is happening IN PUBLIC and IN THE BROAD DAYLIGHT! The woman posted that in a group a people whether a private party or at a public gathering, she has been groped. I can't believe that grown men think it is okay to put their hands on someone else without asking (I know, if they did ask they would be refused. Maybe that's why they just do it!). Is this a recent development in our society (with the recent Presidential election?) or has been happening for a while?
Woman like sex, or at least, most women do. When, where, and with whom is their decision. There may be a gap between what men think is acceptable in approaching a woman and what a woman expects from a man. Ladies?!
I think it is more likely you are noticing tht sex is not as much of a major priority for women as it is for men. If a women put "sex" in their lists of interests, they would get barraged with men wanting sex and not really all that interested in getting o know them as a person.
As a gay man, I would have the same problem if I put "sex" into my interests category. I'ts very easy to find men who are interested in having sex, but very hard to find any men who care enough to actually get to know a person as a friend.
I doubt that.
Well, Louis CK (I know, another pervert in the news and all, but he's still a great comedian) had a bit where he explained, when it comes to dating, the risk women face is far greater than the one men face. Men risk getting rejected. Women risk saying yes to a potential murderer or rapist.
Not to mention, if a guy gets a girl pregnant, he can do the douchey thing and abandon her and the baby. The woman can get an abortion if she lives in the right part of the country or world. Even then, though, I'm sure women would rather not have to do that.
Bottom line, both genders like sex. It's just women face a lot of risk with it, so they try to focus on personality and financial stability. And they may focus on these traits for other reasons, too, but a potential baby requires quite the safety net.
I think it has to do with gender expectations not bashfulness.
Women like sex just as much as men or more, observing this by their profiles does not give anyone a good indication of this and is a very poor test of this.
Interesting observation.
I agree with some of the comments women have already made about how saying that we enjoy 'sex' in our profiles could be misconstrued. This also points to the extent of 'sexualization' we have to live with in this society as women.
I didn't choose it for my profile also because i don't enjoy just 'sex', i enjoy it in the context of an intimate relationship, and there, it does not need to be mentioned in addition to 'love'.
Let's be friends, @Diarmaede.
I personally didn't put it on my profile because I'm on here to meet new people/friends. Hell yeah I like sex but that doesn't need to be on my profile because that's between me & the person I'm in a relationship with. I don't view sex on the same level as an interest. Like books, movies, sports etc.
Your answer seems pretty normal to me, I don't really expect women to advertised intimate matters in their profiles like men do, we are kind of pigs that way). Since a women most important erogenous zone is her mind I do not expect them to instantly want sex like males do.
Rolly, you've been here 9 days, were you expecting the women here to swoon over the fact that you've arrived?
I'm just messin' with ya .
@RollyRules It's all good, I told you I was just messin' with ya.
I just think you'll be much better off making friends here if you don't say things like "women tend to have all the power".
For one, it's not true by any stretch of the imagination, and two; you'll alienate about 50% of the population.
Women in general, dude.
I could write a whole book on the matter. And in my experience, simply stating what you or I have stated has the potential to brand me as [take your pick on any derogatory or reductionist label], which ultimately serves as a way to fuck me over in their eyes, simply put.
Have you ever considered that the problem might be you? Women are not that different from men in many ways but, the ways they are different are different enough to make them nearly an alien species until you figure it out. Time to start paying attention.
See, you just hurting my feelings and pretty much proved my point. What should I be paying attention to? Give me a head start.
I hadn't noticed or got the same impression.
If it is true, perhaps they're being more patient than the 'average guy' for the real 'you' to appear.
