The military dogs always make my heart swell with pride....loyal to their handler, loyal to our country...

Yeah if you get the chance see movie called Max is about MWD military war dog

@bobwjr I have a fantastic picture of my dad holding a little dog when he was in Italy during the WWII...he loved that dog...it helps make the lives of some of the soldiers a bit more tolerable in adverse conditions...but always sad when you lose one...

Thank you for that 💕💗💓

Very true, but not all heroes are in the military. Most have no intention whatsoever of becoming one.

I am not sure that the military are such heroes, after all look what they are doing around the world.

I believe the men and women who risk their lives are heroes, but heinous acts are sometimes committed during war that could be considered less than heroic and inhumane. I agree with you.

The real cowards and perpetrators are the bullies who send those men and women to fight in unnecessary, sometimes illegal wars. I imagine waking everyday, to be at war, could possibly make villains out of good men.

@Athena There is no reason to send any military to another country to start a war.

The US is mostly guilty of this.

Sure my uncle had the Yorktown shot out from under him at the battle of coral sea preventing Australia being invaded by the Japanese no heroes right

@Bobby9 Are you serious. Do you not mean US imperialism ?

@bobwjr Oh yeah because the Yanks came into the war in the very beginning and not just at the end.

@bobwjr May be a civilian decision, however you have a choice to join or not, especially when you know what is in front of you.

@Bobby9 Empathy and understanding is really not something you have ever encountered.

@Jolanta was drafted no choice serve or prison

@Jolanta I served i in the medical corp combat medic flew air combat rescue

@bobwjr Well so you did have a choice, but I don't blame you for serving. I just get so upset about all the wars that the US starts for no reason more than greed.

@Bobby9 Once again, are you serious ??? [en.wikipedia.org]

@Bobby9 "we never started a war" ? Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, and now Trump is determined to start one with Iran.

@Bobby9 Not a definition ? well if that isn't I don't know what is. By England, I presume you mean the UK and of course they were an imperialistic power, but not any more. Are you going to tell me now that Bush and his buddy Blair were invited by Saddam to invade Iraq

@Bobby9 You don't like Wikipedia ?. Ok here's an article by Niall Ferguson in the Guardian which is a respected English newspaper.
If you want to live in your deluded little world where the US is the good guy and everyone else is bad well that's your problem but please don't insult the intelligence of others by expecting them to swallow it. [theguardian.com]

@Bobby9 I don't know if you are being deliberately obtuse, or if the matter is too complex for you . I have given you two links to details of US hegemony and here is a third and final one. I hope this makes it clear.[middlebury.edu]

@Bobby9 What the US never started a war. You are so delusional. Since the second world war the US has invaded more than 20 countries. And as far as the secret prisons just look into Egypt and for your information they even have "prisons" on ships.
