Lots of talk today about Stephen Hawking passing. I saw this picture and found it to be very powerful. It's from from Melbourne artist Mitchell Toy. My hats off to her.

I like it too-was he an atheist-anyone know?

Seems like our most brilliant scientific minds are nearly all Atheists. I wish I had a tenth of his intelligence, I was shocked and saddened by his passing. Somehow I thought he would live forever.

While this may be a poignant graphic, this is no different than believing in an after life. Prof. Stephen Hawking no longer exists other than in the hearts and minds of we who remain . IMHO

I've heard it said that a person doesn't truly die until they are no longer remembered. With what he's remembered for combined with his writings and video footage of him, the man (his presence) will never die. Bruce Lee and Ronnie Barker (to name only a couple) still have the same effect on me today as they would have when alive.

While I agree with your comment, I saw the graphic more as he was returning to the stars... back to stardust... from where we all started.
I didn't see it as a religious statement, although I can see how someone could.
