The famous "Monkey Trial" was begun this day in 1925... Thank NO god we are not as backward as then.... Oh, wait, we are STILL fighting the idiotic fight against the religious... I loved the statement that "preachers set up revival tents along the city’s main street to keep the faithful stirred up." Why are we still fighting this madness?!?

Such a testimony to the quality of public education in the USA
This is the very subject that got me looking for internet connections and conversations with fellow atheists online back in 2005.....the alarming thought that public schools were promoting Creationism and watering down the work of Charles Darwin and his hallmark Theory of Natural Selection in Biology textbooks. "Just a Theory"...as if it didn't have solid evidence to back up so much scientific research and current medical findings we depend on today. And the promotion of Intelligent Design by school districts across the nation...public schools...it still sets my blood boiling.
