God is not the extortionist. He gets nothing as he’s not real. The church and the leaders of the ecumenical society are the extortionists...but they all don’t use their money for evil. Some use their money for giving back to the community and not for silver chalices.
@Namaste Yes! In recent years, I've been given to referring to God as an ISB. For several reasons: One, it's much more honest, and I feel better about saying ISB this and ISB that. Two, it usually prompts people to ask me, 'What is an ISB?' Which gives me the opportunity to drive home the point that God really is an Imaginary Sky Being that only exists in peoples' imagination. Just making a little contribution to Truth and Reality now and then...
