The most influential band in popular music history. They changed everything in music from venue size, sound systems, writing, recording, and the way albums were put together. There is no part of the industry they didn't influence. i hear young bands playing and singing Beatles riffs, some not even aware of where they came from l'm sure.
Paul McCartney came to my city about 10 years ago selling concert tickets for over $1500 each. These were just the regular seats.
I was a huge fan of his music, but I have to say it really put me off.

I would not call myself a major fan, but a fan of sorts, sure. I love them as song writers. They still represent perhaps the best collection of songs that lend themselves to widely varies interpretive covers by other artists. That ability speaks volumes.
Well, Lennon and McCartney and some Grorge Harrison certainly..
I must say i think the Bob Dylan catalogue is more coverable although not so broadly may be.
