Be careful what you wish for. Depending on who you ask, you might be a member of the oppressing class.

Only in the loosest of possible terms and hey If it gets the job done shrugs

@OpposingOpposum To paraphrase humorist Roy Blount Jr.; "I hold some reactionary views myself, like: the Edge isn't all it's cracked up to be, and if there was a Revolution tomorrow we wouldn't like it either...."

People who think Caucasian men as a fungible group are the source of all the trouble on this planet, ever, aren't likely to be picky about; well, this one is a troublemaker, but this one over here is decent enough...

Just as there are some very wealthy people (Bill Gates comes to mind, also Warren Buffett) who put their money to very good uses and even want the tax codes changed to their disadvantage and to help the nation at large. [cnbc.com] But then there are the Walton family. (Not the TV show. Although they gave me the creeps too,)

@Paul4747 gotta break a few eggs and all. In all seriousness I would hope that should it come to all out revolt (which is long overdue imo) that the wealthy who aren't supportive of the robbing and pillaging and outright mass murder that the wealthy elites have been engaging in for years, would side with the people.

@Allamanda whi said it would be a mob?

@OpposingOpposum And now I get to quote a favorite fictional character, John Jacob ("Jack" ) Crow:

"Mobs have an easy answer to that eternal question of who deserves what. They just ignore it and grab."

Past evidence suggests that the redistribution of wealth tends to be people smashing windows in their neighborhood appliance store, getting themselves a big screen TV... and tomorrow, everything is back to normal. That's why voting, not revolution, is the answer.

@Paul4747 basing your policies off of the opinions of fictional characters is pretty questionable IMO. What's your suggestion, we do nothing and let the ultra wealthy basically enslave us and destroy the planet we all live on?

@OpposingOpposum Pretty sure I gave my suggestion already. "That's why voting, not revolution, is the answer."

Why should I revolt against my peers? 😀

I got it first-hand!!
I was stuck in a traffic jam in Dreux, France, a few hours ago as the town residents held a big parade to celebrate. Fortunately, I had allowed plenty of time to reach the Dieppe ferry from Limoges, 500 miles previously.

Well not literally opposed to cannibalism but beheading some like the Koch brothers ok true Bastille day fashion

bobwjr Level 10 July 14, 2019

I thought I remember a report that the Koch Bros. abandoned Trump before hevwas even elected. Doesn't excuse their political manipulations, but at the moment, they may not be the primary enemy?

@t1nick they are behind so much shit still a primary target

@bobwjr true, true, true

I was really hoping a French rider would win at the Tour de France today. However, Daryl Impey (
South African) won - but Julian Alaphillippe, who is French and from Saint-Amand-Montrond which is a lovely little town, is in the yellow jersey!

Happy Bastille Day, maybe we should celebrate the old fashioned way

Also on this day 1933

All German political parties, except the Nazi Party, were outlawed. Let's not repeat this one

@Buttercup It was also on this date, in 1798, that the US Sedition Act made it illegal to write, publish or say anything critical about the US government. A dark day, despite Bastille!
