Who is spending money today at Amazon? Did you plan carefully, using apps like camelcamelcamel, honey, and Amazon Assistant and even an old-fashioned list? Or are you going to throw caution to the winds and venture on the site willy-nilly? Do you dig in your heels and refuse to participate at all? Curious minds (me) want to know!
Kind of spooky, just before I left Australia for 6 weeks in Vietnam I used my last cake of dishwasher soap. As part of the promotion I got an email with a special on my brand. I keep wondering, coincidence or is big brother watching. Hey, it was a good deal, I ordered it. It will be waiting for me get home. Spooky though.
I use amazon, prime video, and twitch on occasion but of all days, today is definitely one that I won’t be crossing the picket line to shop with them. I also have no money, but I’m taking it a step further and not watching the twitch or prime video content that I could freely peruse either. Might take today to cancel my prime sub actually.
I spent money there today. These are things I had put on my wish list for a few weeks now, already investigated. I have waited until now to receive the added 6% bonus cash back using the Amazon Card and see if additional savings would appear, a couple did. Plus I bought an Amazon $25 gift card so I would receive a $5 credit. Spend $25 to get $30, free money. Spent under $125, really nothing I needed but a few odds and ends. I am probably going to buy one more thing and get a third Echo Dot for $22 plus the 6 month trial of music unlimited.
I think shopping on Amazon is feeding a monster that never gets satisfied. It fuels impulse buying and creates wealth for a person whose greed and lack of charitable obligations are staggering. I am entering that phase in life where 'enough is enough' and I don't need much more 'stuff'. Venturing into downsizing and minimalism and non-consumerism directions in my 50's. Less stuff to burden my children with in my (cross my fingers) late 90's. And yes, I boycott Walmart. That's been going on about 10 years now.
I buy some stuff via Ali Express, but very little from Amazon
Nope. I did use someone's wish list on amazan for an idea - a book I bought elsewhere for a third the cost.
I am an online junkie but I am moving soon so I have held back buying anything. I am going to browse and check against my wishlist to see if there are any real bargains, but I am not going to go crazy buying stuff. Also, trying to go more minimalist since I am moving to a much smaller house.
I refuse to patronise Amazon. Never bought anything from them...like Starbucks and other Mega Corporations who don’t pay their fair share of taxes in the UK.
