Trump impeachment bid crushed in the Democrat Controlled House of Representatives

We Democrats and Voters Supporting and Yelling for it to Happen should Read and Weep

Now Democrats will pay a price in the 2020 elections at the federal and state and local levels. Trump's popularity will increase. Moderates and independents want Congress to do people's work, not continue animosity.

Pelosi was trying to tell us that but overzealous progressive democrats have done the damage.

He's a lying SOS. He's never been held accountable for anything in his life. It's time he is

It's infuriating how this asshole manages to always avoid accountability for his obvious corruption and criminality. He did it for decades as a civilian liar and cheat and he's doing it now as an elected liar and cheat. No matter what he does, he walks away untouched by any of it. It's almost supernatural. My expectation is that he'll get away with everything in the end.

I hate to say that but that's how I see it playing out. It always has for him. It's uncanny and inexplicable how such an ignorant, hateful, scumbag seems to be so favored by the whims of Fortuna.

We elect representatives to go to Washington to do right by the people who vote for them. We should blame our weak-knees democratic representatives first who have not done enough to stop him.

@St-Sinner Many of our Dem reps want to move on him but they're being hamstrung by the do-nothing establishment at the top starting with Pelosi. Once again, through no thought or action of his own, circumstances are aligning in Trump's favor. Like I said, it's uncanny.

Not to worry! The Dems are just waiting for all the right cards to play! They wanna make sure they nail him!

How long?

@St-Sinner until there isn't a spineless republican controlled senate to quash an impeachment.

@SallyInStitches Right, so it is a long game. That is why it makes a good sense to win the Senate, keep the house and start passing bills to override Trump's veto. Make his second term miserable.

I am talking about Trump's second term because in all likelihood he will be re-elected in 2020. Democratic candidates are doing badly.

I’d say Democrats paying attention will understand why this deadend process wasn’t followed through. The ‘swing voters’ in the middle (unaffiliated) will likely frown on the Democrats non-attempt at impeachment. It’s a no-win dead-end … and Pelosi knows that. If nothing else, simply an opportunity for both Republican Senators and Congressmen to vote against it … and be viewed by their constituents as ‘supporting their president.’

Pelosi was advising democrats to not do this. She a seasoned politician but we knew how to shoot ourselves in the foot.

@St-Sinner Yup, she knows what sells ..and when to stop selling it. She wasn’t my 1st choice as Speaker ..though I really didn’t have one, or a say 🙂

This amazes me as well but, on the other side, I have heard tRump and his lackeys welcome an impeachment as the senate and some of the house are still with him and it would be hard to manage. An impeachment has little chance of removing him from office at this time. Remember, it only made Clinton look bad for a while. I think there simply has to be an iron clad reason and complete proof.

I think we would rather wait until he is out of office and then nail him for crimes with solid proof...I almost wish they would not have Mueller testify...I read the report and there is enough for him to get charged once he is not president...I think that is why he is working so hard to get re-elected...the statutes run out...if he can push it off, he will be cleared of those crimes...I would like to see him in an orange jumpsuit instead of impeached...

@thinktwice

  1. Seeing him out of office will have to wait until 2024. All signs are currently pointing to Trump winning again in 2020
  2. States and fed can pursue actions against Trump in 2025 if Trump does not permanently damage the possible efforts because 8 years is a long time. He showed us how to pack the Supreme Court. Most votes have been in his favor so far. He will also pack all appellate courts and others with his nominees. As long as he has the Senate, he can do that.
  3. Joe Biden rightly said that if we do not stop Trump now, he will change the character of country forever. And Trump is going to do that. This country will be more religious, all government institutions will be packed with conservatives, abortion will not be legal, white supremacists will be encouraged, racism will rise and basically all conservative agenda will achieve its goals
  4. The best scenarios is for democrats to win the Senate, keep the house and defeat his agenda and pass the bill we want overwhelming to override his veto.

@St-Sinner The same prediction was made that Rummy would beat Obama. A lot of us were concerned but it wasn't even close. The fact that Dems. have gained such a large majority in the house and more people are becoming concerned about the direction this country is going and are going to vote I would say all bets are off. A lot could happen in the meantime. Predictions are notorious for being wrong.

3

Actually, most people didn't even realize there was a vote since there were three prior attempts in the house...most Democrats were not in favor and many of us let our representatives know that...the only one weeping and whining are the same ones that have been trying since the election...nothing new here

Whatever. It is a defeat for Democrats and a win for Trump.

@St-Sinner yeah...whatever...

@creative51 Exactly...he is a troll...
