Love a nice trip to Hawaii to see the new lava flows and vents
We visited the lava flow from the 1992 eruption, which covered previous flows, and engulfed the coastal highway. The cooling lava was about 4 feet high on the road and was still hot. We couldn't climb on it, but we could get close to it. A medication won't necessarily work the same way for all patients.
@AnonySchmoose There were daily briefs and video updates during last year's eruption. Wow!! It was my daily routine to watch. They were posted on YouTube. Now they're back cutting new Roads and people are actually staking out property lines on top of the flows. It's wild seeing how close you can get to fissure 8 now. When that was erupting, it put on an intense show... All the way to the ocean.
@Our_existence
How weird ... people around the world appear to love to tempt fate by going near or living close to volcanoes!
@AnonySchmoose I would never live near one. Nope, not stupid, but this is the earth renewing itself. It's awesome, powerful and beautiful. It also reminds us, the earth still has the final word, no matter what us puny humans do.
@Our_existence
The earth is too amazing to believe most of the time, yet I believe it !
When I think about meteors crashing into earth, I'm humbled then!
@AnonySchmoose Ask the dinosaurs or the citizens in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada!
For my personal interest I'll stay in the US, went to Florida at the beginning of June to see the Everglades should have went 30 years earlier, we went by car and we took our dogs with us pet friendly hotels, supported the local economy and got 40 miles to a gallon. Wanted to drive the blue ridge parkway but it ended up raining so that was out. Adirondacks in the fall.
Sounds adventurous, fun, and beautiful.
@AnonySchmoose we went to an Audie Murphy festival in 2012 in Ohio wound up in Carlsbad New Mexico, oops. Wrong turn at Albuquerque.
@oldFloyd
Well, I guess Bugs Bunny was involved with that trip then!
That pic resembles areas of New Mexico.
@AnonySchmoose it was a scenic overlook in New Mexico on our way to Carlsbad caverns the little red dot the car we were in.
@oldFloyd
.... you mean the red car you and bugs bunny were in ? ....
@AnonySchmoose yeah, Bug's is my co-pilot. Who needs Android auto.
