A lovely Feminist article. The book reviewed sure to lift up Margaret Mead even higher by readers and peer review. However I saw no mention how boy Bush drafted anthropologists into his illegal wars of Afghanistan and Iraq.....weaponizing observers of culture seems a leap forward of chaplains/commanders/trainers brainwashing our troops to kill "rag heads" and "camel jockey".......The reviewer DID mention a colleague of Mead trying to undo the racism against Japanese in 1946.....All in all I want to read all Margaret Mead love stories in the book
