If you did not know it. the Southern Baptist Convention was formed in the 1850s as a break-away sect from the main Baptist church, specifically to justify and support slavery. Ever since, it has co-mingled religion, racism, and politics. It had no Black members in its leadership until the late 1960s (at the earliest). It still refuses to condemn racism among either its ministers or congregations.

Christians are a very fucking confused group of people . . . . If they really believe the words in their holey book . . . .

Problem is that an awful lot of people share in the belief that God is an Englishman and that therefore Jesus was white, a gentile and spoke with an Oxford accent. Unless you're a Mormon then he was American, of Swedish decent and talks like Jeffrey Holland.
