Well its definitely school hols round here. Not only is Paul home (already getting bored so kicking him to work over the summer) but all the children are out playing in the streets. Some people moan but I love it, they are off making dens and swings in the park and having water fights. We are lucky that the streets are narrow and cars need to be in single file. Everyone drives at 2MPHs so the children are safe. They grow during long hot summer days, playing out in the woods like real life Swallows and Amazons. Safe in their little North of England world.
I’ve assumed such places have balanced the ‘carrying capacity’ of humanity with nature. It sounds idyllic, and I hope you can keep it that way ~
Oswaldtwistle is a small North of England old mill town as was. There are about 6000 people so we do get to know each other fairly well. Never had a day's trouble here. I am always doing daft things like leaving my purse in the car or forgeting to lock the door..its wide open now because its a warm sticky evening. Its not always good...everyone knows your business but all in all...I love it here.
