Just had the good fortune of watching the first TWO SEASONS of HBO'S "Big, Little Lies". Superb. Anyone else have an opinion?
Meryl, Laura Dern, Nicole Kidmann fine job with themes of overcoming, immense struggle and sisterhood. I came away feeling victorious as a woman. Which is not a common take-away. I love watching strong actors...sweat out a role.
In each thread of the story or plot, there were important decisions to be made, life-changing circumstances to confront, and never, never did the motive rest on a religious imperative. Morality was not shown to be dependent on serving God or the moral laws of an organized doctrine of commands, but on the individuals AUTOMONOMOUS choice to "do the right thing".
Laura Dern CITIZEN RUTH a hoot on all sides of dope ....sex abuse....abortion....theocracy.....spy v spy.....doctors and nurses need a laugh dodging tampon terrorists bullets bombs and super glue squirted into key locks
Just watched 2nd season other day-all day marathon. More involved than 1st season. No humor like Desperate Housewives. Too melodramatic.
I watched half of season one before life distracted me with something (I don't remember what). The rest of season one and now all of season two is on my DVR, so I may go back to it. David E. Kelley was always good at tv.
Will certainly view them on your recommendation if I can find them at the library... bookmarked this... on a budget.
