Let's make it more than abundantly clear to Congress and to the violent gun rights extremists: Public safety always takes precedence over the falsely asserted rights to own any specific type of weapon. Congress has acted many times in the ban private ownership of many weapons -- machine guns, mortars, frame throwers, rocket launchers, poison gas, tanks, etc., etc. Are you in Congress so stupid and calloused that you cannot act on your responsibility?

There is no doubt that the proliferation of guns in the USA is responsible for the fact that the USA has the highest rate of gun deaths in the industrialized world.
