So i am actually a member of the church of satan. I find their view of the world to be very humanistic. They do not worship satan they are actually atheist. Anyone else here been involved with the church of satan ?
I'm not a member of the church of satan, but I've learned alot about y'all since I become an atheist. And I'm here to say, Satanists are badass!! They're a absolutely wonderful tool for the battles on the separation of church and state. The Christians are absolutely terrified of y'all when it comes to the ten commandments monuments. I also agree with you, Satanists are atheists, but puts on a better show. Love your pictures, btw. Awesome!
I am not a member, but I have learned some things about it. I find myself coming to their defense--mostly against uninformed atheists-- as many don't know that they don't believe in a literal Satan; and, as you stated, are actually atheists. And, I like that they boldly challenge the attempts of the religious right to use the government to promote their beliefs and agenda; what is allowed for them must be allowed for all!
I agree. Christians are absolutely terrified of them. It's soo funny to watch them go up against the ten commandments monuments. The American Atheists had a lady from the church of satan or the Satanists temple as a speaker at the national convention this last April.
I prefer the satanic temple. Anton LaVey was pretty damn sexist and problematic on a lot of issues. Check out the Satanic agnosis group on this site, and the βblack mass appealβ podcast and discord server if you wanna learn more about the temple. Really cool folks.
I knew a few, including a married couple in San Diego 30 plus years ago. They made costumes for most of the acting companies. Honestly, I found them very nice and humanistic and always had food for anyone who stopped by. I found them too much like fundies with their beliefs.
