Do you capitalize the thing in god? I don't.
Only if it is the first work in a sentence.
Not to be a smart ass or insensitive, but this is an agnostic site, so who cares whether it is capitalized or not.
Technically if it used as a proper noun its gets capitalized. If used in a general sense (aka. The gods looked on with derision), then not.
Thank you. The atheist contingency seem to be getting bent out of shape again
Thank you, we like to keep you on your toes. Lol
it is the degeneration and corruption of the language I get bent out of shape about, not the religious aspect, the capitalisation issue is just the tip of an iceberg where Christian theologians begin redefining words to suit themselves such as faith, prayer, spirit etc
@Geoffrey51 lol. We atheists can get a bit self importaint. We capitalize the M in Me, haha
I don't even use the term when Flying Spaghetti Monster works perfectly fine...
I don't feel it makes any difference. It is sign of deference, I suppose, for no good, or godly reason. This is a group of delusional believers who claim that they, the chosen children of god, are the reason for it all. How can the deluded be convinced of their own delusion? I don't know, but it is the same feeling I have for what to do with crazy people. It easiest just to never discuss their craziness with them. GROG
Just using the word god, no. When using a particular name, it's a proper name so you would capitalize it such as "Thor, the God of Thunder" LMFAO
Didn't know you were supposed to. Jesus is a name the word god is just word like home or chair. My auto correct doesn't tell me to correct. Are you sure you're supposed to?
Grammatically speaking it's a title, and a proper noun, so depending on if you're writing a paper that requires proper grammar usage, in that context/event it should be. Not out of any other reason than the rules of grammar.
Would you always capitalize the H in Humanist ?(just supposing you were one) or the A in atheis.? etc It is purely a means of showing respect and telling others of your mode of thinking and displaying those thoughts for all to see. Also a means of getting others to follow one's method of respecting and thinking.
The opposite is also true - to disrespect by de capitalising.
I don't capitalize it. But if I write it backwards I do. Dog
