So you're telling me within a few months of winning this lawsuit, Hispanic workers from the same plant in Mississippi were specifically targeted by ICE raids? Seems like a hell of a coincidence.
I don't understand Cheryl. They would not be the same workers and in addition a consent degree was ordered against the employer. I mean are you suggesting some type of retaliation by the employer? It seems like he would be shooting himself in the foot. He would be losing his workers and subjecting himself to further prosecution. It looks to me like he is ignoring the decree so the government is going out for him again.
@SaucyCheryl so the same workers stayed after winning their lawsuit? I thought they would have taken the money and run. It must be really uncomfortable at work after you sue your boss!
@SaucyCheryl yes I'm sure they will appeal.
So much to unpack in this. Koch brothers have also trash talking the Orange One and contributing to his rivals. When it was revealed that Trump's golf resorts, it seemed there was more of an effort to talk to the lower-tier employees than the staff who were directing them to get false dox, and any story follow ups would stress the firings, with little added about the hirings being illegal to begin with. The article said the company settled on a payout of $3.75M. Wonder what this was down from and how much of an actual impact it will have on the company. Lastly, from the company perspective, just how badly were complaints growing before the raid took place?
Fancy that...
I wonder if any of those claims had been paid out yet?
@SaucyCheryl What a surprise
this entire situation is so screwed up with so many question marks
