Strange how people have to resort to insults when they don't like someone's opinion

"AnneWimsey @(redacted EaudeCologne4711) I was not questioning you, just the idiot on this thread (PontifexMarximus) whose heart bleeds for Assange, instead of seeing he was clearly a tool of Putin/drump"

So the agnostic/atheists can just be as intolerant as the believers

I'm reading through the other post and I'm tempted to waste my time on them, but I won't. Anyone who has cared to research the Assange issues wouldn't be disputing you, and insulting you at the same time. I'm tired of showing people evidence against the charges laid at him and how they misconstrue the facts of the cases.

I understand... Truth is fighting an uphill battle.

Yes of course we can be - we're human.

If you think someone is really out of line you can use the "Report" feature - or you can use the "Block" feature.

That's usually the best course of action - trust me. Arguing with people who get into name calling just brings you to their level.

Sometimes telling the person their action wasn't very cool can be helpful. In this case I wouldn't bother. It just seems to be their method of communication.

You are correct.

Hey, leave me out of it.

I blocked AW a long time ago. I suggest you do the same...

Not uncommon usually used when someone is persistent and ignoring courtesy and logical arguments

Welcome to agnostic.com Name calling is the weapon of choice here for people without any facts to back up their claims or as you say, if they disagree with a post or comment and have no substance to back up their disagreement. Be prepared for it every time you make a post or comment and it's the usual suspects. You will be called a troll, too sensitive, anything they can say to deflect. Kind of like the president of the united states, name caller-in-chief, who may have taught some of them. Your poster child is a habitual offender. The block feature can come in handy.

quite honestly that tactic isn't unique to this site. it's worldwide. I escaped the clutches of the southern baptists and after a 3 decade search found my way to Buddhism ... only to discover that the Sri Lankan and Vietnamese and Cambodian and Thai etc... Buddhists were every bit as close-minded about their views as the baptists in Odessa, Tx and Newcastle, Ok. It's all part of the tool that is religion and its' impact upon our minds.

@JeffMesser One can be closed minded without resorting to name calling

@JeffMesser Very true … However, I thought that this community is based on some form of solidarity. I don't mind vulgarities or insult when people don't have the capacity to structure their argument.

@lerlo Exactly!

@NoPlanetB Unfortunately you are absolutely correct. I was too naive.

You obviously have no clue what Assange is about at all. There is nothing clearly in what you are implying.

"the idiot on this thread (PontifexMarximus)"

I guess you know.

@creative51 Do you actually know anything at all about the "sexual" molestation at all? I think not. Do you know about laws around sex in Sweden? I think not. Go and find out, that would be a start. Don't just believe in what you have heard or red.

@creative51 wow... you sound so convincing … almost as if you had been an eye witness.

@creative51, @Jolanta "Don't just believe in what you have heard or red." … how do you know???

@PontifexMarximus I doubt very much that you were one, however I used to live in Sweden and still have relatives there, so I probably know a bit more about laws and rules there than you do.

@Jolanta OK … explain! I think what you don't grasp is that an alleged offence is used to undermine Mr Assange credibility regarding the exposure of war crimes.

@PontifexMarximus Alleged is the word.

Sometimes when people cannot win you over to their side in a debate they resort to using pejorative language, therefore turning it from the issue into something personal. That is the point at which they have lost the argument in my eyes, so step away is my advice. The expectation that atheists or agnostics will be any different from believers in this respect has no foundation in reality.

These Trump conspiracies are getting as ridiculous as religious stories.

Assange has been in legal trouble since 2012.
Trump didn't start his run for President until 2015.

How was Assange the tool of a loudmouthed real estate developer many years before he went into politics?

Excellent observation.
