The following are the details of a highly workable universal healthcare program. First the BENEFITS. The benefits would be:
• No insurance premiums
• No co-pays, out-of-network costs, or hidden costs to pay.
• Greatly reduced prescription costs, due to strict negotiations on costs through negotiation of prices, and requirement of justification of pricing.
• No exclusion to due previously existing conditions
• NO personal or family bankruptcies due to medical costs.
• NO deaths caused by not being able to receive meical services due to cost.
• It would mean that persons would not be trapped in unsatisfying or undesirable positions just to maintain healthcare.
• Better overall healthcare for the vast majority of American residents.
• Greater overall productivity and less time lost from work.
• Reduced costs to businesses due to not having to spend money for personnel, equipment and time dealing with healthcare and health insurance issues.
• Increased money for salaries and wages, due to the above reduced costs to businesses
Next how do we, as individuals and as a nation, pay for universal healthcare? The COSTS. The answer is simple. We should tax all personal income from all sources, up to a cap of %500,000 of personal income. For persons earning wages and salaries, the person should pay a health tax of 7.5 percent of income, matched by the same amount paid by the employer. For persons whose income comes from all other sources dividends, fees, royalties, rentals, stock and bonds sales, etc., the person should pay a rate of 10.0 percent. That would generate more than enough income to cover the costs of the program.
In other words, the only costs to the individual, to businesses, and to the country would be a nominal tax by the individual and employers. In return, the benefits to the individual, to businesses, and to the nation would be huge! That is the crux of the issue. I would be happy to answer any questions on this. I would also be glad to provide details on issues such as doctors, hospitals, insurance companies, and operating arrangements if asked. Limited space prevents me from addressing those issues now.
your population is probably still too brainwashed to accept UHC.
by the time the avg citizen realizes it would work better for them, incredibly high deficits/debt will make it impossible to pay for.
the best way to pay for it is with a value added tax which most progressive countries have. it ensures that the better off pay the most. exemptions for lower incomes.
Good idea, but opposed by Repuvlicans and big money.
You’d have my vote ...but your competition from the opposing party would be smothered in money from the medical industry and it’s mega-wealthy benefactors..
But, if the real word gets out and if we in the middle and working class get out and vote, we can make it happen.
I lived in Germany for 6+ years. They had a 10% tax on everyone's income. It worked great!
The issue for the ruling class will be the lost jobs from insurance companys, hospitals Doctors offices who deal with insurance. And there will be some lost jobs, but overall it would be better for Amrrica.
Not as many lost jobs as you might think. Many health care management workers would be needed in a universal healthcare program. The bit losers would be the investors in and managers of private health insurance firms.
@wordywalt The idea being: remove the middlemen, and save everyone else a hell of a lot of money.
@AnonySchmoose It is much more than that. It means better healthcare for everyone, especially those with middle and low income, much less stress on families, better mental health due to decreased stress and should mean higher wages and salaries for employees. And, positive results for the whole country and its people.
@wordywalt Yes indeedy. Stands to reason it means better healthcare for all. We need to get very into having that. Now it's time to get what is a humane right for everyone. I wholeheartedly approve!
@wordywalt I don't disagree with you. Just pointing out what will be the arguement from the GOP. Jobs &, loses in your 401K.
@Al-Bundy_59 Many industries come and go over time as society and technologies change.
